Erin Merrill, who has been hunting with her Dad for ten years, has started writing a website blog for the Bangor Daily News called, "Thoughts from a Tree Stand."
Her recent post of an interview with DIF&W Commissioner Chandler Woodcock was very interesting, and good enough that it actually ended up in the newspaper.
Of particular note, was this question and answer.
Erin's Question: "At what point will you know this (predator control) program is successful?"
Chandler's Answer: "I would say when 50 percent of the coyotes in the targeted areas are culled. 40 percent is successful but I would like to reach 50 percent."
